JR pass exchange order is valid for 3 months from the issue date.
The reason why we ask you to put a date(tentative plan) is to make sure you plan to activate it within 3 months or not.
You can start using your pass right away or you can select a day for the first day to start using your pass at the time of activation in the JR exchange office.

Important notice 【2023/8/14】
 
We would like to inform you that the JR pass including regional pass price increase (here for details JR Pass Price) from October 1st,2023 and our JR pass booking system will be undergoing maintenance as follows.
 
The current price and changes rules applies to the orders we received by 3:00 pm (PDT) on Friday, September 29th,2023.
 
The system maintenance will take place after 3:00 pm (PDT) on Friday, September 29th,2023  and the new booking order will be unavailable.  
 
The new price with the whole country JR pass orders will be available from October 3rd,2023 and the regional pass will be available sequentially.
 
Please be careful as to who purchased the JR pass by 3:00 pm (PDT) on Friday, September 29th,2023 and who requested any changes after the time of date the difference and change fee will apply.
 
JR PASS Exchange Order (Voucher) is valid for 3 months from the date of the issue to activate in Japan and you need to select a date within 30 days to start using the JR pass at the exchange office. Who can activate the JR PASS Exchange Order (Voucher) by December 28th, 2023, We are recommended to purchase them before the price increases.

J-Station at Richmond office Pick-up for JAPAN RAIL PASS Exchange Order 【2023/07】
 
Pickup will be ready on/after 1 pm on the next day.
 e.g. 
・If you ordered the JR pass on Monday. Your pass will be ready to pick-up on Tuesday on/after 1pm.
・If you ordered during the weekend, Your pass will be ready to pick-up on Monday on/after 1 pm.

J-Station's entrance is located on Cambie Rd. Please go around the main building and access from the Cambie Rd side doors. (as of May 15,2023)
